Taboos To be stop For a better society in india

What are the taboos in your society?

Indian Society has numerous taboos, and change is slow to come. Many items like-

  • Menstruation
  • Sex
  • Divorce
  • Love marriage
  • LGBTQ

Though the pattern is slowly reversing, and people are accepting love marriages and divorce, we are still far behind in educating people about LGBTQ, sex, and menstruation.

Women in rural communities rarely use sanitary pads since they are not permitted to go out alone, and menstruation is considered taboo, so they are not allowed to discuss it with their partners. So they use cloths instead of pads, which is quite unsanitary.

I recognize that things are changing, yet I have seen the above occur. In February 2023, my cousin uncle had his first love marriage in our home, and everyone made a big deal about it.

1.) Menstruation should not be considered taboo in women's hygiene.

2.) Sex should not be considered forbidden in order to dissuade pornography.

3.) Divorce should not be a taboo subject because your future depends on it.

4.) Love marriages should be accepted since love promotes health and wealth. Marriage, in my opinion, is a legal manner of professing your love, rather than a necessity that must be fulfilled at a specific age.

5.) People should be able to choose who they love, hence LGBT should not be considered taboo.

We must be vocal about these and other taboo matters solely for the benefit of society.

Cheers and take care!

I discussed LGBTQ with my mother, and she literally chastised me for it. Though I had excellent teachers who discussed sexual reproduction in a fascinating manner, I have met other students whose teachers did as I described above.

All of the things that Indian society considers taboo should not be, because they are natural and necessary for a variety of reasons.
